New Heights is a full eight hours of music at the new Betty Jayne Brimmer Center for the Performing Arts, benefiting the extensive music education and cultural diplomacy work of the Bluegrass Ambassadors.
This event features performances from some of the best musical artists in the country, a special menu from Slow Hand Craft Barbecue, a full bar from Pour Bros. Craft Taproom, an all-ages music workshop with the Bluegrass Ambassadors, and musical collaborations with some very special guests.
About the cause:
As a young nonprofit organization, the Bluegrass Ambassadors have brought music education to over 20,000 people in 26+ countries, teaching with songs in more than twelve different languages (including Swahili, Urdu, Arabic, Pidgin English mixed with Yoruba, Luganda, Kyrgyz, Czech, and more). In the week leading up to New Heights, they will bring their unique music education programming to schools in Peoria District 150 and Peoria Heights School District. Their special brand of teaching music through storytelling, improvisation, collaborative performances and songwriting creates positive impressions on children that make them music lovers for life.
