Tickets: $10 in advance; $15 at the door
WMBD’s Greg Batton (The Greg and Dan Show) hosts the third installment of a new comedy series in Peoria Heights at the beautiful Betty Jayne Brimmer Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, November 16, at 7pm. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door, with doors opening at 6:15pm.
This month, host Greg Batton welcomes:
Let's face it: most guys you know who look like Edgar Sandoval are doctors, engineers or ninjas...and that only enhances the perspective he shares in his standup: growing up Asian in America, Edgar’s experience as a soccer coach, and life as a husband and father of four. Formerly an award-winning television news reporter at Peoria’s NBC and CBS affiliates, Edgar left for corporate communications and started doing standup in 2016 (a midlife crisis that’s cheaper than a sports car, less effort than a marathon and less complicated than a girlfriend). Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he lived in California (Los Angeles and Monterey) twice before settling down in Central Illinois. He has featured for touring comics including April Macie, Will Durst and Mike Armstrong at comedy clubs across the region.
Growing up in an Irish Catholic family whose father was an Episcopal Priest, Joe Roderick takes to the pulpit with high energy and unforgettable stories. Don’t miss this show, which harkens back to the days of Vaudeville, including Opera singers, a Speakeasy Jazz band and of course, laughs.
Jeff Govednik seamlessly combines highbrow and lowbrow humor into a unibrow philosophy, one that is both intellectually stimulating and a touch disturbing. He is an enigma wrapped in a conundrum, and his songs will get stuck in your head like a lawn dart.
The show kicks off at 7pm and wraps up around 9pm, but stick around for drinks with the comics until 10!
NOTE: this event is 21+. There could possibly be adult language and/or themes.
Live comedy in a cool place...the Betty Jayne!
